Dr. Wilbur M. Smith came up with a new story about Spurgeon. The time for reading scripture came one Sunday morning and Spurgeon left the Bible closed. " Some have found fault with me," he said "I am too old fashioned. I am always quoting the Bible and do not say enough about science. Let us turn to science this morning. There is a poor widow here who has lost her only son. She wants to know if she will ever see him again. We turn to science for the answer: Will this woman see he son? Where is he? Does death end all?
There was a long pause. " We are waiting for an answer," he said "This woman is anxious."
